Inter-Seminary Gathering in Bet Jala

This afternoon after classes finished in Ratisbonne the community body boarded the bus for Bethlehem.  Here the Diocesan Seminary of Bet Jala hosted the December Inter seminary gathering.  Upon arriving the students of Bet Jala, the Salesians, the White Fathers and a large group of American seminarians from Mundelein in Chicago gathered for some informal camaraderie.  A little later Bishop William Shomali addressed the whole body in a lecture about the recent letter of Pope Benedict XVI to Seminarians.  It was received very well. Following this talk, the whole group went to pray evening prayer - in Latin, French and Arabic - for the vigil of the Immaculate Conception. At this time two of the Bet Jala students were accepted for the diaconate ordination the following day.  Afterwards each seminary group presented a piece of entertainment.  The Salesian students performed a mime about breaking down a wall.  The final event was a festive meal together.  A good time had by all.
