Groups and Movements
"The family spirit is the hallmark of the salesian community and inspires every moment of its life: work and prayer, meals and recreation, meetings and other encounters." (C. 51)
Four Animation Groups are responsible for the animation of the different areas of community living:
Cultural group: Concerns itself with the setting up and updating of the Community website and the production of the Ratisbonne newsletter, the organization of the weekly film and other cultural events for the Community, including Fr Vernet's presentation each month in preparation for the archeological excursions and the interseminary gatherings.
Liturgical group: Concerns itself with the fostering of the liturgical life of the Community, namely, "the Community at prayer", and, in particular, the animation of one Sunday celebration of the Eucharist each month and the monthly evening Mass for all the members of the Community.
Community group: Concerns itself with the celebration of each confrere's birthday or feast day on the day itself, the general planning of the family soirees and community outings, and with the welcoming and caring of the guests of the Community.
Sports group: Concerns itself with the organization of the daily and weekly schedule of indoor and outdoor games, including the care of sports equipment and the maintenance of the equipment in the gym, the co-ordination of the sports activities on the occasion of the interseminary gatherings, the loading and distribution of provisions for the monthly archeological excursion.
