Beginning of Academic Year 2010-2011

Today marked the opening of the 2010-11 academic year. Formal celebrations began with the celebration of the Liturgy of the Word presided by Fr. Dominque Arnauld, m. afr. He spoke of the need to enter into the depth and breadth of study in order to nourish the whole student.
After this, the faculty of Ratisbonne took the Catholic oath of fidelity.
This was followed by refreshments where new students, returning students and teachers were able to mingle.
Next, Study Centre principal, Fr. Roberto Spataro, officially opened the academic year. This he did by recalling the highlights of last year's events, reading letters written by recent graduates, presenting some of Pope Benedict's reflections of academics and then congratulating returning students who scored the highest in 2009-10. The crescendo moment was when Fr. Roberto asked all present to rise as he declared the school year open, to which much applause followed.
