Apostolate
The 'APOSTOLATE', as we call it here in Ratisbonne, is an activity of the Seminary which is not likely an optional part for the training of the Seminarians for the priesthood. It is commanded by the laws and teachings of the Universal Church and it is one way by which the Formandi and their Formators could evaluate how, more and more, they are integrating their theological formation and reach the stature which is that of the 'GOOD SHEPHERD'.
To help them realize this goal and already begin practicing being 'GOOD SHEPHERDS', the pastoral work in-charge, Fr. Ric L. Fernando, has taken up the standing pastoral commitments of the Seminary.
- JERUSALEM: the Handicap Center of the DC sisters - and opened more possibilities so that more and more of the seminarians could have the opportunity for 'Apostolate'.
-BETHLEHEM: the Oratories at Bethlehem of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and at the Oratory in Bethlehem of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
-CREMISAN: the Oratory in Bethlehem of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
- PHILIPHNO COMMUNITIES: The Filipino Communities of Notre Dame and of the Holy Rosary sisters also were given a good number of brothers, then a couple of them took care of the children in preparation for first communion. At the very request of the Filipinos themselves, they wanted a Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help and a Mass on Wednesday nights;
there, a brother was assigned. Again at the same request of the Filipinos, an anticipated mass at 9:00 p.m. was begun and again brothers are assigned there. All these take place just here at Ratisbonne. In Rehovot, a 45-minute drive from Jerusalem, other 2 brothers began going with Fr. Ric also in the evenings of Saturdays.
